Te Tomika Trust is dedicated to nurturing resilience and fostering growth for individuals and whānau, guided by kaupapa Māori and the values of our tūpuna. Their mahi acknowledges that every journey is unique, providing tools that strengthen connections to whenua and taiao, empowering individuals to overcome challenges.
We redesigned the brand to move away from the dark and complex elements of the previous identity, creating a modern and meaningful visual system that better represents their kaupapa. The toki poutangata symbolises resilience, mana, and leadership, reflecting the qualities of Tomika Te Mūtunga and representing the tools provided to empower individuals on their journey. The takarangi motif acknowledges Tomika Te Mūtunga through his mataora, symbolising the interconnectedness of life—taha wairua, taha hinengaro, taha tinana, and taha whānau. This connection reinforces resilience by highlighting the strength of relationships and support networks.
The refreshed brand identity includes a new logo, branding system, website, and collateral, ensuring a cohesive and impactful presence across all touchpoints. The result is a design that honours tradition and supports the trust’s ongoing mahi in empowering communities.
